J.T. Brown is a Florence native who is proud to have been baptized and raised at Central UMC. According to J.T., Sunday school, youth group, mission trips, and meaningful mentorship by Central’s pastors and members helped to shape his understanding of discipleship. As a high schooler he began to feel a calling into the ministry, which he pursued throughout college and seminary. In May of 2020, J.T. graduated from Candler School of Theology, and in July of the same year he started his first appointment as a United Methodist pastor at Belin Memorial UMC in Murrells Inlet, SC. He is currently in his second year of full-time ministry at Belin and hopes to be ordained as Elder in the South Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church this summer. He and his wife, Kate, reside in Georgetown. Welcome, J.T.!
